Yes, if the recipient lives in a building with an entry code, the florist needs it to get in.
Where do I fill it in?
Write the entry code in the "Information to florist" field at checkout.
This applies to Florist bouquets. For Flowerboxes you don't need to give an entry code – the recipient enters it themselves when the notification from the courier arrives.
I don't know the entry code
That's common, especially if the flowers are a surprise. In that case, write in "Information to florist" that the florist should call the recipient before delivery. The florist will then contact the recipient and agree on the delivery.
Most florists call ahead even without being asked, but routines vary between shops – putting the request in writing makes it clear.
What happens if the florist can't get in?
Without an entry code and without contact with the recipient, the florist can't leave the flowers. The delivery is then returned and the recipient has to collect the flowers from the shop.
That's why it's worth either giving the code or asking the florist to call ahead.
