The flowers in a Flowerbox are often delivered in bud – meaning they haven't opened up when you get them.
That's deliberate. Flowers cope better with transport in bud, and you get to enjoy the whole flowering at home rather than having it start during transport.
The bouquet opens up within 24–48 hours, sometimes up to 72.
Here's what to do
- Take the flowers out of the box and remove all the packaging
- Cut the stems at an angle, about 2 cm
- Put them in a clean vase with fresh, cold water and add the flower food that comes with them
- Keep the vase somewhere cool and bright, but not in direct sunlight, near a radiator or in a draft
Change the water every other day. Care instructions always come with the box.
The flowers look tired
Flowers that have been transported can look a little limp for the first few hours. That's normal. Give them 24 hours in fresh water and they'll bounce back.
