With the right care, the bouquet will last longer.
When you unpack it
- Cut the stems at an angle, about 2–3 cm, with a sharp knife or scissors
- Remove any leaves that end up below the water line – otherwise they rot and spoil the water
- Put the flowers in a clean vase with fresh, cold water
- Add flower food if you have it
Ongoing care
Change the water completely every other day and rinse the vase. Top up the water in between.
Where should the bouquet stand?
Somewhere bright, but avoid:
- Direct sunlight
- Radiators and other heat sources
- Drafts
- The fruit bowl – ripening fruit gives off ethylene gas, which makes flowers wilt faster
